Kinesiology Tape

 

This product features a unique wave-patterned adhesive design that can lift fasciae under the skin to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and to stimulate muscle function.

Below is the summary of how the tape can be applied for various applications:

 

Neck    Semispinalis

           Positioning: Neck flexion

           Tape: I tape and Y tape

           Tips: Do a preliminary stretching of neck muscle

           so you can measure the length of the tape strips exactly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scapula    Lower Trapezius

           Positioning: Shoulder adduction

           Tape: Fan tape

           Tips: Do a preliminary stretching of scapula muscle

           so you can measure the length of the tape strips exactly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shoulder    Deltoid

           Positioning: Shoulder abduction 30 degrees

           Tape: I tape and Y tape

           Tips: Make sure the Y tape has no tension at the acromion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elbow    Extensor Carpi Radialis

           Positioning: Wrist flexion, elbow extension

           Tape: I tape and Y tape

           Tips: Lay tails around the extensor muscle belly

           with 25-50% tension to the lateral elbow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wrist    Wrist Joint

           Positioning: Wrist slight flexion

           Tape: I tape x 2

           Tips: Start with the first I tape with 25-50% tension on dorsal hand.

           Apply the second I tape with 75-100% tension on the wrist joint.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Back    Erector Spinae

           Positioning: Trunk flexion

           Tape: I tape x 2

           Tips: Start with the first tape at the sacroiliac joint with 25% tension. 

           Apply the second tape with 50-75% tension on the lumber region.

Back    Quadratus Lumborum

           Position: Trunk lateral flexion

           Tape: Y tape

           Tips: Start with the anchor of the Y tape with no tension.

           And then apply the tails with 25% tension.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Knee    Quadriceps

           Position: Knee flexion 60degrees

           Tape: Y tape & I tape x 2

           Tips: The split of the Y tape should be just at the

           superior part of the patella.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thigh    Hamstrings

           Position: Hip flexion 60 degrees

           Tape: Fan tape

           Tips: Start with the anchor of the Fan tape at the

           ischial tuberosity with no tension.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leg    Gastrocnemius/Soleus

           Position: Knee extension, ankle dorsiflexion

           Tape: Y tape

           Tips: Start with the anchor of the Y tape at the

           bottom of the heel with no tension.         

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leg    Tibialis Anterior

           Position: Knee extension, ankle pantarflexion

           Tape: Fan tape

           Tips: Start the Fan tape at the origin of the tibialis

           anterior just below the knee.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ankle    Achilles Tendon

           Position: Knee extension, ankle dorsiflexion

           Tape: I tape x 2

           Tips: Start with the anchor of the I tape at the bottom

           of the heel with no tension.
